Corporate Culture

Working at Xilinx

Every company has its own culture and personality. It’s shaped by the way we interact with each other, the way we think about our work and the company, and the way we act every day.

While every person at Xilinx is unique in his or her own way and none of us fits into a rigid pattern or mold, here are a few of the traits you might find in the extraordinary people who shape the Xilinx culture.

Business Savvy and Customer Orientation

We know the realities of life in a high-tech environment: the customer comes first; cutting costs helps us be more profitable and competitive; bringing out new and better products on time that respond to what customers want is what our business is all about. And we are happy to respond to these important priorities. At the same time, we believe we must do this without compromising our values.

Compassion

Employees at Xilinx like the idea of helping others -- both inside and outside the company. Some people like to say that you find "really good human beings" at Xilinx; people who support each other in the company, and work to support those in our communities.

Creativity

Creativity is our company's lifeblood. It is an all-important key to business success at Xilinx. We build leading-edge technology and bring it to market to change the way people live and work. Creativity at Xilinx extends beyond technology; we try to be innovative in all we do.

Diversity

Our diversity is a strength. We like the fact that we are a blend of different cultures, ethnicities, and beliefs; that we speak different languages; that we come from multiple backgrounds and educational places. We are passionate about the fact that this diversity heightens our innovation as a team and results in better solutions to problems.

Fun and Fascinating Work

We believe work should be fun and fascinating. The work we do at Xilinx is challenging and we think that challenge is what makes it fun.
If we feel bored, it's time for a change or time to look at our work in a different way.

Cooperative Mindset

We like to work together. We tend to be more cooperative than combative. We try not to assign blame but, instead, roll up our sleeves and get to work to solve a problem as a team. Because of our unique business model, the word "team" extends beyond the boundaries of our company. We cooperate closely with our sales and manufacturing partners and treat them like members of our family. As team members, we feel that it's all right to make mistakes; we learn from them.

Balance in Work and Personal Life

We try for good balance between our work lives and our personal lives. This can be extremely tough given the speed and intensity of today's business environment. We acknowledge that sometimes you need to work long hours and go to extreme measures to get an assignment done; but we don't think that should be a way of life. We believe that when you take the time for outside interests and pause to enjoy all the good things that life has to offer, you come back to work refreshed and more creative.

Quest for Perfection

We know we’re not perfect. Xilinx people work hard at responding to customer needs and making the workplace a good place to go to every day. But we make mistakes, individually and collectively, and we try to frankly acknowledge our faults. This, we believe, is what makes us human and opens the path to continual improvement.

While it's hard to capture intangibles, such as the heart and soul of a company's culture and personality, we hope these traits give you a glimpse into what makes Xilinx people so special.

Corporate Transparency

CRO Magazine's 100 Best Corporate Citizens List

A commitment to corporate social responsibility and good, transparent governance has run deep at Xilinx since our founding. In 2009, we earned a spot on the Corporate Responsibility Officer (CRO) Magazine's 100 Best Corporate Citizens List for the third straight year, based upon our ranking in: Environment, Climate Change, Human Rights, Philanthropy, Employee Relations, Financial and Governance. According to CRO Magazine, “In good times, checkbook citizenship can win the day. But in tough times, strong reputations and transparency pack as much punch as a strong balance sheet. In today's deep recession, human capital and financial capital seek safety - and companies on the 100 Best Corporate Citizens List are today's safest harbors.” We wholeheartedly agree.
