CORE Generator™ Simulation Compile Scripts

IP Update #4 Install Instructions
  • While not required, it is recommended that you install the latest 3.x Xilinx Software Service Pack.
  • This IP Update is available as a .zip file, as a "gzip"-compressed.tar file, and as a "gzip"-compressed GNU tar file.
    • .ZIP: The Zip file can be unpacked using WinZip 7.0 SR-1 or later on Windows. On Unix, some versions of unzip may be used to unpack this Zip file, but there are some known issues with this, as described in Xilinx Answer #7711.
    • .TAR.GZ: On UNIX platforms, it is recommended that you download the ".tar.gz" file and unpack it using the UNIX command line utilities gunzip and tar (not GNU tar). Note that the date stamp of the "/user/sbin/tar" command you use must be February 10, 1998 or later. This version of tar is usually supplied with Solaris operating system versions 2.6 or later. WinZip and GNU "tar" are not recommended for extracting the ".tar.gz" archive due to differences in the way they handle files with long pathnames. See Xilinx Answer #11162 for more details.
    • .GNUTAR.GZ: The ".gnutar.gz" archive can be extracted using the UNIX "gunzip" utility and the GNU version of "tar".
  • Quit out of the CORE Generator application if you are currently running it.
  • Download the zip file or tar.gz and save it to a temporary directory. (Note: You will be asked to log in to the IP Download Lounge using your Xilinx userid and password. If you do not have a Xilinx userid and password, there will be a link where you can request and receive one immediately.)
  • Extract the zip file or tar.gz archive to your Xilinx installation directory.
  • Delete the corelib.xml file located in /coregen/ip to force the CORE Generator to regenerate this database during startup.
  • Restart the Xilinx CORE Generator. The Xilinx CORE Generator will automatically detect that new IP has been added and will provide you with an opportunity to update "All" cores to the latest versions, add only "New" cores, or make only a "Custom" selection of cores available, for your current CORE Generator project. Verify whether the installation has succeeded by verifying that you can see the new cores in the CORE Generator GUI, such as "LFSR" in the "DSP/Building Blocks" folder.
