ISE™ software includes an Incremental Design flow which allows users to process designs using a hierarchical methodology. By reusing results for unchanging portions of the design, users can save many hours of processing or manual intervention during iterations, greatly reducing the time-to- market for large and high speed designs. In a simple, productive way, Incremental Design takes advantage of the Xilinx guide methodology, which uses output results from previous implementations as guide files for preserving unchanged logic results..

Incremental Design also supports Incremental Enable mode, increasing first-time success by preserving synthesis module boundaries and enhanced performance between changed modules and the remainder of the design.
