The Object Segmentation LogiCORE™ IP provides a hardware-accelerated method for identifying objects of interest within a video stream.

The Object Segmentation LogiCORE™ IP is used to identify objects of interest within a video stream. The block operates on statistical data generated by the Image Characterization LogiCORE.  The user provides criteria that allow the IP block to "find" the objects of interest by specifying the lower and upper thresholds on mean, variance, edge, motion and color information that describe the objects of interest.   The Object Segmentation IP produces a list of objects that meet the defined criteria for use by higher level software.

Key Features

  • Supports up to 8 sets of feature combinations (mean, variance, edge, motion and color information)
  • Supports up to 4 feature selects (any Boolean combination of the 8 feature combinations)
  • Detects up to 30 objects per feature select
  • Provides location of the object in the frame and density of the object in a rectangle around the object
  • Operates at all resolutions and frame rates supported by Image Characterization block (up to 720P60 and 1080P30)
  • AXI-lite processor interface; AXI memory mapped interface
  • pCore or General Purpose Processor Interface
