Low Power ConsumptionIndustry's Lowest Power 1.8V CPLD
The CoolRunner™-II architecture, with its all-digital core, requires far less power than the older CPLD technologies that use power-hungry analog sense amplifiers -- with our FZP process technology, there is almost no standby current. Plus, it can be furthered scaled down with DataGATE so you can achieve even lower power results! CoolRunner-II is clearly the right CPLD solution for today's system power budgets.

Application Notes
Ultimate Low Power with DataGATEDataGATE permits input signal blocking, stops input switching, and reduces power. DataGATE can even block any input pins you select. Low power design can be attained without using DataGATE, but even greater results are possible for your entire design using it. In all, DataGATE enables CoolRunner-II to be a small fraction of the system power consumption -- no other CPLD can do this! Benefits at a Glance

CoolRunner-II Reduces Overall Board PowerCoolRunner-II CPLDs continue to employ the features of FZP technology to further advanced CoolRunner-II CPLDs as the low power standard. Other CPLD manufacturers have attempted to reproduce the FZP technology of the CoolRunner CPLDs, but have not been able to meet the CoolRunner benchmark. For the first time in the CPLD industry, CoolRunner- II devices deliver both true high performance and low power at the same time, along with the lowest standby current in the industry without the use of power down modes.
