The programmable Xilinx Analog-to-Digital Converter (XADC) and logic enables customization for a wide variety of applications, from simple control and sequencing to more signal processing intensive tasks like linearization, calibration, oversampling and filtering. The signal processing capabilities of the FPGA can also be leveraged to enhance the performance of the ADCs using techniques like oversampling. This flexibility replaces the need for the diverse catalogue of analog devices required today.
