XILINX EVERYWHERE AT NAB 2006

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 19, 2006 – Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) today announced that its industry-leading programmable logic solutions for enabling broadcast applications will be showcased throughout National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference, April 24-27, 2006 in Las Vegas. In addition to its own exhibit (Booth #C10515) featuring a broad range of digital broadcast applications using the company’s flexible FPGA devices, Xilinx-based solutions will be highlighted in eight different partner booths. More than 30 other companies exhibiting at NAB will also demonstrate leading-edge products with Xilinx devices. • SD H.264 Main Profile Encoding:Xilinx and Ateme will demonstrate a compact,  fully programmable, real-time broadcast-quality SD H.264 Main Profile encoding solution based on single Virtex™-4 FPGA.
• SD/HD H.264 Main/High Profile Decoding: Implemented on a single Xilinx Virtex™-4 FPGA, and a licensable intellectual property (IP) core developed by 4i2i, the high profile decoder provides a highly-integrated, cost-effective solution ideally suited for a wide variety of video-based broadcast, conferencing and surveillance products.
• Audio Solutions with Embedded Audio and Sample Rate Conversion:Xilinx adds to its industry-leading (HD) SDI Video solutions with new embedded audio capabilities, enabling flexible, low-cost, complete Xilinx-based SDI solutions. Xilinx will also demonstrate a new high-quality audio sample rate converter reference design with Virtex-4 FPGA.
• Video over IP: Xilinx will demonstrate bridging between industry-standard DVB-ASI and newly-emerging video over IP transport.  The unique embedded PowerPC™ processor in the Xilinx Virtex-4 FPGA enables exceptionally powerful and flexible IP video solutions.
• SD H.264 Encoding with Xilinx:Xilinx and Main Concept will demonstrate a real-time SD H.264 encoder using a “flexible co-processing” technique that partitions encoding tasks between hardware description language (HDL)-centric FPGAs and software-centric digital signal processors (DSPs).
