SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., July, 10, 2006 – Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX) today announced that Chairman, President and CEO Wim Roelandts will deliver a keynote address titled “Fabless Perspectives: Critical Success Factors at 65nm and Below” this Wednesday, July 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. at SEMICON West 2006.

Roelandts will describe how technology transitions to 90nm and 65nm have impacted the fabless semiconductor industry. His assertion is that today’s successful fabless firms are developing as much operations and infrastructure acumen as semiconductor expertise, signaling a reintegration of the semiconductor model in which all stages of the product lifecycle are correctly linked to ensure silicon and market success. At this session, Roelandts will discuss key challenges fabless companies face at 65nm and below, as well as steps being taken to address them – putting forth specific requests to semiconductor equipment suppliers to help streamline adoption of the world’s most advanced chip-making technology by fabless companies.

“We expect the percentage of worldwide IC sales by fabless companies to reach 20 percent by 2008,” said Bill McClean, president of IC Insights (Scottsdale, AZ).  “Given the growing influence of companies such as Xilinx,  ranked #6 in the top 10 list of fabless leaders,  Roelandts’ perspective in this week’s SEMICON West keynote will be both timely and instructive for the industry.”

Xilinx CEO Roelandts joins a prestigious line-up of keynote speakers at SEMICON West 2006 this week, including executives from STMicroelectronics, Micron, Mentor Graphics, LogicVision, and Surfect.
