XILINX ASIA PACIFIC HEADQUARTERS BUILDING WINS
GREEN MARK PLATINUM AWARD FOR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AND PERFORMANCE

First private industrial building to receive the Singapore government’s highest accolade for
environmentally-friendly design

SINGAPORE, July 17, 2007 – Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX), the world's leading provider of programmable logic solutions, today announced that its new Asia Pacific headquarters building in Singapore received a Green Mark Platinum Award, the highest recognition possible, by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) under the Singapore Ministry of National Development. The BCA Green Mark Scheme is a rating system used to evaluate a building for its environmental impact and performance. Buildings are awarded the BCA Green Mark based on five key criteria: energy efficiency, water efficiency, site/project development and management (building management & operation for existing buildings), good indoor environmental quality and environmental protection, and innovation.

Xilinx Asia Pacific headquarters, a six-story building located within the Changi Business Park in Singapore, was granted the Green Mark Platinum Award for its environmentally-friendly building design. Among the key “green” features of the building are:

  • Use of high performance low-emissive double glazing unit for all external windows and full height ‘shop-front’ glass
  • Innovative use of heat pipe & desiccant dehumidifier
  • Maximize day lighting into office floors by limiting floor depth to not more than 10 meters; this also enhances visual connectivity with external natural environment
  • Extensive use of low VOC paint & to zero-formaldehyde-emission carpet improve indoor air-quality 
  • Extensive use of T5 lights in offices, car park and operational floors
  • Use of motion detection system integrated with lighting in meeting rooms, toilets, car park & staircases 
  • Use of Centralized Lighting Management System which is linked to Building Management System via IT backbone
  • Use of Solar cum heat pump hot water system
  • Use of recycled condensate water for landscape irrigation
