EVERTZ MICROSYSTEMS CREATES DIGITAL-TO-ANALOG CONVERTER FOR HDTV USING XILINX FPGAS

Xilinx helps Evertz accelerate time-to-market and provide customers with field upgradability

SAN JOSE, Calif., January 29, 2002 —Xilinx Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) announced today that Evertz Microsystems, a leading provider of dynamic digital video (DV) equipment for the film and television broadcast industry, chose Xilinx Platform Virtex FPGAs to deliver its latest portable digital to analog converter for HDTV. Evertz chose the Xilinx Virtex family of FPGAs for their high-performance DSP capabilities and field upgradability. Evertz is one of many DTV manufacturers utilizing Xilinx FPGAs to gain a competitive advantage in digital video and broadcast equipment applications.
