take place on July 25, 2002 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, and will include presentations from leaders and visionaries from throughout the Metro-Optical Networking community focusing on the technologies and challenges of developing
and deploying successful products for the Metro Area Network market. Open to over 1,000 system architects, design engineers, executives, product development managers, and industry press, the event will also be broadcast via live satellite
to an additional 41 Avnet locations throughout the United States and Canada. Attendees will hear from industry leaders and visionaries on where this dynamic market is headed and the technologies driving success in the MAN space.

Vinton Cerf, senior vice president of Architecture and Technology at WorldCom will deliver the keynote speech. Cerf, widely known as one of the "Fathers of the Internet" for co-designing TCP/IP and the architecture of the Internet,
will discuss metro area networks from a service provider perspective.
- Dave House, president, chief executive officer and chairman of Allegro Networks will be a featured speaker. House, who has 35 years of experience in the industry, is credited with creating and launching the "Intel Inside" campaign, will
be discussing the challenges and demands of today's edge networks and will introduce multi-router technology and its role in revolutionizing routing and routing services for carriers
