XILINX ANNOUNCES MEMBERSHIP IN
RESILIENT PACKET RING ALLIANCE
SAN JOSE, Calif., June 26, 2002 - Xilinx, Inc.
(NASDAQ:XLNX), today announced its membership in the Resilient
Packet Ring (RPR) Alliance, an industry advocacy organization
established to promote IEEE standards based on Resilient Packet
Ring technology and to encourage the utilization and implementation
of Resilient Packet Ring as a key networking technology for
transporting Ethernet services in metropolitan area networks.
Xilinx® membership supports the company's commitment to accelerate
development and deployment of MAN applications.

nurture and help develop a broad market by promoting the proliferation
of Resilient Packet Ring in the MAN and our commitment to promoting
multi-vendor interoperability," said Robert Love, president
of the RPR Alliance.

which allows us to provide our customers with insight and solutions
to help accelerate time-to-market for metro area network applications,"
said Robert Bielby, senior director of Strategic Solutions Marketing
at Xilinx.
Xilinx Metro-Optical Networking Forum
On July 25, 2002 in Santa Clara, Calif., Xilinx, along with
other industry leaders, is hosting a free one-day event to
address the challenges of designing and developing products
for metro area and edge access networks. Attendees of the
event will hear from industry experts on where this dynamic
market is headed and the technologies driving success in
the metro area networking space. At this event, representatives
from the RPR Alliance will present on where the RPR is headed
and why it should be adopted as the standard for the optical

About the Resilient Packet Ring Alliance (RPRA)
The RPR Alliance, founded in January 2001, is an industry advocacy
group committed to the development of an RPR technology standard
for the networking industry. The Alliance will promote the
adoption of an RPR standard for LANs, MANs, and WANs by educating
the networking industry about RPR technology and the benefits
of an IEEE standard as well as by fostering multi-vendor interoperability.
Principal members of the RPR Alliance include Alcatel, Alidian
Networks, Cisco Systems, Corrigent Systems, Lantern Communications,
Mindspeed Technologies, Nortel Networks, and Vitesse Semiconductor
Corporation. ARRIS, Avaya Communication, Chip Engines, Huawei
Tech Co., Infineon Technologies, Intel, Ixia, NEC Corporation,
Xilinx and ZTE Corporation are participating members in the
