Veteran electronics industry editor to act as technical anchor during April 17 simulcast

SAN JOSE, Calif. - April 1, 2002 - Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) today announced that Brian Fuller, editor-in-chief of Electronic Engineering Times, the industry's leading weekly trade publication, will serve as the technical anchor for Programmable World 2002. The event is scheduled for April 17, 2002 and will be held simultaneously in 20 locations around the world. Programmable World 2002 is a collaborative industry event that will provide system architects and engineers with in-depth technical training on the multi-faceted technologies revolutionizing electronic systems design. About the Technical Anchor
In his role as technical anchor, Fuller will provide commentary on the keynote and general sessions speeches as well as lead a panel of industry experts discussing programmable IC architectures, design tools and software development trends.

Fuller joined Electronic Engineering Times in 1992 as associate editor for business and has worked in various editorial capacities at the publication since then. He was named editor-in-chief in October 2001. Fuller began his journalism career in 1983 with United Press International (UPI) in Indianapolis. After serving as Indiana Statehouse Bureau Chief and political reporter he transferred to Rhode Island, eventually becoming bureau chief and state editor. He left UPI in 1988 to become managing editor of the Providence Business News and moved home to California in 1991 to serve in the same capacity for the San Jose Business Journal. Fuller has a bachelor's degree in English.

Programmable World 2002 is an industry event presented by IBM, Wind River Systems, Xilinx and a dozen other industry leaders. Over 8,000 system architects and design engineers are expected to participate in the free of charge event.
