The new tool provides system architects and DSP designers with unparalleled productivity for implementing TeraMAC/s DSP applications using Xilinx FPGAs. The tool automatically generates a FPGA implementation from the Xilinx Blockset in Simulink with performance and density levels previously attainable only through hand crafted designs. This allows designers to use familiar tools to take full advantage of Xilinx FPGAs for high performance DSP designs. System Generator for DSP v2.2 Tool
The System Generator for DSP v2.2 tool now supports all Xilinx FPGA families including Virtex-II Pro, Virtex-II and Spartan-IIE. Within the Virtex-II Pro device, the tool allows system architects and DSP designers to support DSP features including SRL16E shift-register logic, 18 x 18 embedded multipliers, and duel port block RAM. Design time is also significantly reduced because the tool automatically generates a test bench to verify design functionality, a constraint file for timing, command files for FPGA synthesis, HDL simulation, and implementation tools. The tool also supports multi-rate DSP applications, which represent the majority of FPGA-based DSP implementations.

The System Generator for DSP v2.2 tool is part of a proven design flow for implementing high performance DSP designs on Xilinx FPGAs. The tool is tightly integrated with Xilinx's industry leading ISE 4.2i software suite, including Project Navigator and Synthesis Tool.
