SAN JOSE, Calif., February 10, 2005 - Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX)
today announced that the latest advancements in embedded processing
development will be showcased at the Embedded Systems Conference
to be held on March 6 through March 10, 2005 in San Francisco, Calif.
Xilinx will host a series of 90-minute technical workshops, in
addition to in-booth theatre presentations and product demonstrations
highlighting innovative embedded system and DSP applications. Industry
experts from Xilinx have been tapped to present numerous technical
papers as part of the ESC Technical Program, including the new Easy
Paths to Silicon Design Seminar.
Xilinx will also be among featured presenters at the Microprocessor
Summit, an event to be held for the first time this year with ESC
San Francisco on March 7th at the Argent Hotel.

Create embedded hardware/software/IP system and boot real-time
operating system with Xilinx Platform Studio suite. Accelerate
embedded processing development for programmable systems via the
IDE, as well as powerful design wizards, BSP and application code
generators.
- Low Cost & Flexible Processing
New Spartan -3 SP305 board implements complex embedded motor control
using the MicroBlaze soft 32-bit processor, a Floating Point Unit,
PID control loops, PWM, DAC and ADC to control both a brushless
DC and a 3 Phase AC induction motor. See frequency generator using
the PicoBlaze 8-bit processor capable of frequency range up to
640 MHz incremented at 1 Hz.
- High Performance Processing
Dual processor system with inter-processor communication implemented
using Xilinx ML310 Embedded Development Platform Board with Multi-OS
boot (Linux, VxWorks and QNX) and the Xilinx Platform Studio (XPS)
tool suite. First processor used as a compute engine utilizing
the FPU. Second is host processor managing data flow and I/O.

using the Auxiliary Processor Unit (APU) controller. Introduces
