XILINX ANNOUNCES PROGRAMMABLE WORLD 2002
WITH IBM, WIND RIVER, AND A DOZEN OTHER INDUSTRY
LEADERS
Industry-first forum to simultaneously train 8,000 engineers
in 17 worldwide locations
on the technologies revolutionizing electronic systems design
SAN JOSE, Calif. – February 25, 2002 – Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX)
today announced Programmable World 2002, a collaborative industry
event with IBM, Wind River Systems, and a dozen other industry
leaders. At this event, engineers will receive in-depth technical
training on the multi-faceted technologies revolutionizing electronic
systems design. Additionally, attendees will hear from industry
legends and visionaries shaping the new era of systems design.

Scheduled for April 17, 2002, the event will be held simultaneously
in Austin, Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Long Island,
Ottawa, Paris, Phoenix, Portland, Raleigh, San Diego, San Jose,
Seattle Thousand Oaks, and Toronto. Over 8,000 system architects
and design engineers are expected to participate in this free of
charge event.
A broad array of topics will be discussed, including:

- High performance digital signal processing solutions
- High performance processing solutions
- Programmable system design solutions

surveys showed that 98% of participants would attend these events
again, demonstrating the value of this type of training. Given its
comprehensive focus, Programmable World promises to be the best
event of its kind."
The event will allow engineers to choose from over 20 hours of
technical sessions as well as technical demonstrations and exhibits.
Engineers can expect to learn about:
- Implementing extreme processing using high performance FPGA
fabric and 300MHz PowerPC processors
- Designing 40+ Gbps applications with next generation 3.125
Gbps serial I/O technology
- Implementing programmable TeraMAC/s DSP systems
- Optimizing performance through dynamic (re-)partitioning of
hardware and software - throughout the entire design cycle
- Debugging hardware and software in parallel, in a system at
full-speed
- Maximizing system performance while reducing total system costs
