Insight Memec, Impact Memec and Memec Design Introduce Spartan-3 Development Kit
Low-Cost Evaluation Platform for New Xilinx Spartan-3 FPGA Family

SAN DIEGO, June 17, 2003 - Memec Design today introduced a complete solution for developing designs and applications based on the new Xilinxâ Spartan-3™ FPGA family of devices with advanced features tailored for high-volume, high-growth applications. The Memec Design Spartan-3 LC Development Kit provides an excellent platform to explore these features, enabling designers to quickly and inexpensively meet time-to-market requirements.

The Spartan-3 demonstration board uses the 50,000-gate XC3S50J Spartan-3 FPGA, which allows designers to leverage the cost advantages and high-performance features of the world's first 90 nm FPGA. The low cost, easy-to-use kit includes a versatile Spartan-3 demonstration board with the new Xilinx Platform Flash™ configuration prom. An on-board clock oscillator, user clock socket, RS-232 port, two seven-segment LEDs, user LEDs, switches, and additional user support circuits complete the board design. User I/O headers for access to 63 user I/O signals and a prototype area with 25 additional user I/O signals are available for easy connection to user circuits.
