XILINX DELIVERS 10 MILLIONTH 90nm DEVICE

Company delivers more than 70% of the world’s 90nm FPGAs

SAN JOSE, Calif., December 20, 2005 - Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX) today announced that the company has shipped more than 10 million 90nm devices, delivering more than 70 percent of world demand for FPGAs at the 90nm node. Xilinx commands more than a two-year lead in 90nm, and has continued at the forefront of the race to advanced manufacturing processes, establishing an impressive track record as one of the first to 150nm in 2001, 130nm in 2002, and 90nm in 2003. The company attributes its success in large part to the rapid adoption of its Spartan™-3 and Spartan-3E FPGAs in the digital consumer market. The Spartan Series has been broadly adopted in high-volume, consumer applications such as DVD players, plasma displays and HDTV.

“By aggressively moving down the process technology curve with each generation, we continue to deliver the world’s lowest cost FPGAs. We’ve successfully executed ahead of schedule on delivery of our newest Spartan-3E family with all five members in production this calendar year – just nine months from initial availability to full production release,” said Clay Johnson, vice president and general manager of the General Products Division at Xilinx.
