The milestone marks the first product series from a programmable logic company to reach the two billion-dollar mark in less than five years. Xilinx has continued this trend with its Virtex-II Pro line of FPGAs, with steady adoption in many leading-edge applications, among them cellular base stations, high-end networking and storage equipment, broadcast video, and airport luggage scanners.
