Virtex line world's most popular high-performance FPGA series
with over 80% market segment share*
SAN JOSE, Calif., July 7, 2003 - Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX), the
world's leading programmable logic supplier, today announced it
has delivered over ten million Virtex series FPGAs to customers
worldwide in applications ranging from wireless base stations to
high-end plasma displays. The Xilinx Virtex series is the most popular
high performance FPGA in the industry, with over 80 percent of the
business for FPGAs at 1.5V and below*. Xilinx Virtex, Virtex-E,
Virtex-II and Virtex-II Pro Platform FPGAs, have been broadly adopted
in applications historically dominated by application-specific integrated
circuits (ASICs). Xilinx attributes much of its record-breaking
gain in market share to the success of its Virtex line of FPGAs
and the traction it has made in the marketplace.
