NEW POWER TOOL AND WEB SEMINAR SHOW XILINX VIRTEX-4
FPGAs CONSUME 1/10th THE POWER OF COMPETING FPGAs
Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX) today announced version 4.0 of its
web Power Estimator Tool and a new web seminar that demonstrates
the significant power consumption advantage of Virtex-4 FPGAs, enabling
customers to achieve industry leading performance within their power
budget. Customers interested in more information on the power advantages
of Virtex-4 FPGAs and attending the February 15 web seminar can

Xilinx Virtex-4 FPGAs include several breakthrough innovations
to reduce power consumption at the 90nm node. The latest data based
on extensive measurements of thousands of Virtex-4 devices shows
that Virtex-4 FPGAs provide significantly lower power consumption
as compared to competing 90nm FPGAs.
- Up to 78 percent lower static power with the industry's first
Triple-oxide technology
- Up to 86 percent lower dynamic power with unique transistor
and interconnect architecture plus embedded hard IP
- Up to 94 percent lower in-rush power with power-saving configuration
circuitry
The new Xilinx Web Power Tool version 4.0 enables designers to
estimate power consumption based on temperature and airflow at varying
toggle rates. The tool is available now on the Xilinx Power Central
website at www.xilinx.com/power
The web seminar will be broadcast live on February 15. Seminar
attendees will learn to:
