XILINX CHAMPIONS SILICON VALLEY WALK FOR AIDS
Company extends 12-year commitment to the fight against AIDS
with Red Ribbon sponsorship

SAN JOSE, Calif., October 15, 2003 - In keeping with a strong culture of community volunteerism, Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX), today announced it is once again the Red Ribbon Sponsor for the Silicon Valley Walk for AIDS. As a major sponsor of this local event, Xilinx will have a team of approximately 200 walkers on hand, and expects to raise more than $35,000 in sponsorship donations, in addition to making a financial contribution to hosting the event. The Silicon Valley Walk For AIDS will be held this Sunday, October 19, starting at 8 a.m., in downtown San Jose at the Discovery Meadows (Discovery Museum). Xilinx's commitment to the fight against AIDS spans more than 12 years, commencing in 1990 with 10 walkers and $350.00 in sponsorship donations for the Silicon Valley Walk for AIDS. Since then, Xilinx has become a major sponsor and the largest Silicon Valley corporate fundraiser with cumulative support for the event involving over 2000 employees, family and friends of Xilinx and totaling close to $500,000 in donations. In addition, Xilinx hosts a fundraising rally at its San Jose headquarters each year to kick off the company's participation in the event.

Proceeds from the walk go directly to the Santa Clara County AIDS Coalition (SCCAC), which is comprised of agencies and providers helping people cope with HIV and AIDS in Santa Clara County. As the only fundraising event where proceeds go to agencies fighting AIDS in Santa Clara County, the walk is a vital source of funds for local Silicon Valley HIV/AIDS non-profits.
