XILINX NAMED 2003 IMPACT SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR BY LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES

SAN JOSE, Calif., December 23, 2003 - Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX) today announced that it has received the prestigious "Impact Award" from Lucent Technologies. The Impact Award recognizes Xilinx as Lucent's manufacturing supplier of the year for work that included its use of a leading-edge procurement system that has helped Lucent achieve greater flexibility with two of its contract manufacturers.

"Xilinx was recognized as Impact Supplier of the Year by Lucent because of the work it did to help reduce the costs of the field programmable devices we use in our mobility products while retaining the quality we require," said Lucent's Michael Massetti, director of Supplier Management. "Their advanced procurement system also gave us a great deal of flexibility, helping us respond more quickly to our customers. The Lucent team wanted to thank them and recognize them for the work they do to help us serve our customers better."

Xilinx was first nominated and won the Impact Supplier award in 2001. Recipients of this award excel in each of the five criteria areas -- delivery, technology, value, quality and overall relationship. Award winners are also recognized for their ability to deliver quality products quickly and present creative solutions to challenging problems.
