IN GARTNER DATAQUEST SEMICONDUCTOR INDUSTRY SUMMIT

Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX), today announced its involvement in the Gartner Dataquest Semiconductor Industry Summit being held on September 13 - 14, 2004 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, California. Xilinx chairman and CEO, Wim Roelandts, will be interviewed by Bryan Lewis, research vice president and chief analyst at Gartner Dataquest, from 11:15 am to 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 as part of the System-on-Chip (SOC) track of the program. This track will explore the future of SOC devices and examine the key elements required to produce successful products. As FPGAs are emerging as a viable alternative to ASICs, they are also being recognized as a key enabler to opening up the SOC market to the masses. The interview will cover the role of platform FPGAs versus structured ASICs in SOC design.

The Gartner Dataquest Semiconductor Industry Summit attracts high-level attendees from across the semiconductor industry - including executives from chip manufacturers, equipment suppliers, design firms, OEMs, and government -- as well as institutional investors. In addition to involving the industry's leaders in the form of company presentations and CEO interviews, the summit will feature new Gartner Dataquest forecasts for the global semiconductor market. Xilinx, along with the other companies invited to present, was selected based on its influence on the industry and the opportunity associated with its product and position in the market.
