XILINX EVENT ALERT
Xilinx Demonstrates RapidIO Solutions at Smart
Networks Developer Forum (SNDF) Americas 2004
April 21, 2004
What: Xilnx delivers RapidIO Deep Dive II - Parallel
and Serial PHY technical presentation and demonstrates its parallel
RapidIO endpoint solution and ATCA development platform at Motorola's
SNDF Americas 2004
When: April 26-29, 2004 (Conference hours: 8:30 a.m. to 6:00
p.m.)
Where: Hyatt Regency, Dallas, Texas
Xilinx will showcase two demonstrations and one technical presentation
on RapidIO Electricals at SNDF Americas 2004. Xilinx will announce
the next milestone in its continued support for RapidIO technologies
and the development of complete endpoint solutions. Participation
includes:
- Xilinx Exhibiting RapidIO Solutions, Technology Lab Booth
305A and 305B
Xilinx Virtex®-II Platform FPGAs will be used to implement
two distinct RapidIO cores connected across a cable. Conference
attendees will view multiple data packets being sent form one
core to the other across the cable at the rate of 4 Gbps in each
direction on a liquid crystal display (LCD). The Xilinx AdvancedTCA
Development Platform will also be showcased, a fully programmable
serial backplane controller featuring a Xilinx Virtex-II Pro FPGA
with high speed-serial RocketIO technology.
- Xilinx Delivering RapidIO Deep Dive II: Parallel and Serial
PHY Presentation
Brian Von Herzen, Ph.D., will provide a detailed look at the RapidIO
interconnect physical layer. Von Herzen to answer: How far can
I go? Are there mechanical standards for RapidIO interconnect
architecture? Additionally, Parallel and Serial RapidIO PHYs and
critical aspects of the RapidIO AC timings will be highlighted.
Chip, package and board level issues will also be addressed including
signal quality simulations and timing budgets.
Presentation: RapidIO Deep Dive II - Parallel and Serial
PHY
Presenter: Brian Von Herzen, Ph.D.
Session ID: T1603
Date/Time: Tuesday, April 27, 2004, 3:45 - 4:45 p.m.
