Xilinx Earns Highest Ratings in EETimes FPGA

Vendor Survey in All Major Categories
SAN JOSE, Calif., July 12, 2004 - Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX),
the world's leading programmable logic supplier, today announced
the company took top honors as premier FPGA EDA tool vendor in a
survey conducted by Electronic Engineering Times (EETimes), part
of CMP Media LLC. Xilinx® earned the highest ranking among respondents,
taking the number one slot in all the major categories covering
the most important criteria in selecting an FPGA EDA tool vendor.
In addition, Xilinx rated number one in measures of user satisfaction
and loyalty. The findings serve as a strong testament to the company's
commitment to bring best-in-class design tools technology, support
and services to handle today's complex system designs.

According to Sevcik, the finding aligns with the company's mission

Xilinx Experiencing Strong Growth in Programmable Logic
Xilinx continued to capture share of the worldwide ASIC market segment.
Based on calendar 2003 revenues, Xilinx estimates it is now the
third largest ASIC company worldwide. This is up from seventh largest
five years ago - according to Gartner Dataquest. Additionally the
market segment share for Xilinx PLDs increased to 50 percent in
calendar 2003 - according to Gartner Dataquest. This is up from
49 percent in calendar 2002 and up from 30 percent five years ago.
This marks the sixth consecutive year that Xilinx has increased
its share of the PLD market segment and underscores the increasing
importance of Xilinx PLDs to electronic designers throughout the
world.
