XILINX APPOINTS SHELLY BEGUN VICE PRESIDENT
OF WORLDWIDE HUMAN RESOURCES
SAN JOSE, Calif., December 22, 2005 – Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX) today announced that Shelly Begun, 49, has been promoted to vice president of worldwide human resources from her current position as senior director of human resources. Begun succeeds Peg Wynn, 54, who has accepted a new post as senior vice president of human resources with Adobe Systems, Inc.
At the helm of the global human resources organization, Begun’s charter is to attract and retain top talent worldwide in support of the company’s diversification strategy, with a goal to accelerate delivery and broad adoption of the company’s flagship platform FPGAs in vertical end markets, and embedded and DSP application segments. Among her expanded responsibilities will be delivery of organizational development, training, recruiting, and compensation and benefits services to more than 3,000 Xilinx employees throughout North America, EMEA and Asia.

Begun brings more than 27 years experience in human resources management and organization development with high technology companies to her new role. She joined Xilinx in 2003 as senior director of human resources, with responsibility for supporting corporate and divisional organizations worldwide. Prior to Xilinx, Begun served as vice president of human resources for Actel Corp., Calico Commerce, Inc. and Simplex Solutions, respectively. Begun started her career in human resources at Synertek, a subsidiary of Honeywell, followed by Intel Corp.
