XILINX RANKED TOP TEN MOST POPULAR SEMICONDUCTOR
BRAND IN CHINA FOR 2004
World's Largest PLD Vendor Driving System-Level Innovation in
the China IC Market
SHANGHAI, China, March 3, 2005 - Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX), the
world's leading supplier of programmable chips, today announced
it has won the "Top Ten Most Popular Semiconductor Brands in
China Market for 2004" award by China Electronics News and
China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) Consulting
Group. Xilinx received the prestigious award at "IC Market
China 2005", the annual gathering for the China Semiconductor
Industry Association (CSIA) being held in Shanghai from March 2-3,
2005.
A group of experts from CSIA evaluated over 40 leading local and
international semiconductor companies in this competition. They
based their rankings on survey results from over 14,000 industry
professionals of complete-system semiconductor manufacturers in
China as well as documents submitted by the candidate companies.
The winning semiconductor companies were chosen for their outstanding
business performance and company growth in China in 2004; plans
for increasing their local presence and support for the Chinese
IC market; and how they have driven the innovation of complete-system
semiconductor customers.
According to Mr. Xu Xiaotian, Secretary General of CSIA, "Since
