3.1i Install - Service Pack 6 Fails after extracting files

Keywords: Install, service, pack, fail, extracting, PATH

Urgency: Standard

General description:
When running the Service Pack 6 executable, the installer fails after extracting the
files, and the "Choose your Destination Directory" window never comes up.

This can occur because the Xilinx entry is at the end of the PATH variable declaration.

To avoid this problem, check the location of the Xilinx entry in the PATH variable declaration.
If it is near the end, move it to the front and execute the installation again.

To check your PATH variable:

- Open a DOS window and type "echo %PATH%."

- On Windows NT and 2000, right-click on "My Computer" and select Properties ->

- On Windows 98, select Start -> Run -> Sysedit and check the "Set=" entry
in the autoexec.bat file.
