4.1i Licensing - The C Volume ID changed during the reformatting of my hard drive, and my old Node-Locked License does not work

Description

Keywords: Node, Locked, License, install, format, C, vol, reformat, hard, drive, disk, change, reformatted

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
I reformatted my hard drive, and the C Volume ID changed. Now, my old Node-Locked License does not work. What happened?

Solution

Node-Locked Licenses can be locked to a C Volume ID; as the C Volume ID is reassigned when a disc is reformatted, the old Node-Locked License will no longer be valid when a disc is reformatted.

Since the C Volume ID has changed, the Node-Locked License file must be recreated based on the new C Volume ID. For help in setting up a Node-Locked License and obtaining a new license, please see (Xilinx Answer 5330).
