Solution

The MXE serial number is required to fill out the license request page for the Full version of MXE. A serial number is provided to anyone who has purchased MXE.

If you are using MXE Starter, you will need to obtain a license, but a serial number is not required on the license request page. If you are using MXE Starter and the license request page prompts for a serial number, refer to (Xilinx Answer 17070).

If you purchased a software bundle that included a license for MXE, the Product ID is used for the serial number. The Product ID is located on the back of the CD booklet. The Product ID is three letters followed by nine numbers (for example: DIB123456789).

If you purchased MXE separately, a package is sent to you with the MXE software. Inside the package is a piece of paper with a sticker on it that should include the MXE serial number. The serial number is the letters "MXE" followed by five to nine numbers (for example: MXE12345).
