4.1i Install - After a network installation, FPGA Express does not work

General Description:
I have installed the PC version of 4.1i to a network server. When I run setxenv.bat to set up a local workstation, FPGA Express does not work.

Solution

This occurs because a number of registry settings for FPGA Express were not set at the local workstation.

To work around this, import a registry key and manually set the FPGA Express location on the network.

1. Download and unzip the following file to a temporary directory: http://www.xilinx.com/txpatches/pub/applications/misc/answer_12274_reg.zip
2. Open a command window and type "regedit".
3. Browse to and open the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synopsys\FPGA Express Xilinx Edition\3.6.1.
4. While the folder for this key is open, select Registry -> Import Registry File and import the file attached.
5. Right-click on the key "SnpsRootPn"="c:\\Xilinx_4\\express", select Modify and edit the "c:" to the drive location of your server installation of the Xilinx tools. Then right click on the key "HelpPn"="c:\\Xilinx_4\\express\\help" and do the same modification.

This issue will be fixed in the 4.2i CD Release.
