4.1i Install - After installing the tools for Solaris or HP, I cannot launch any tools.

Description

Keywords: Install, environment, variable, variables, Solaris, HP, UNIX, settings.txt, settings.csh, source

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
After installing the tools for Solaris or HP, I cannot launch any tools. How do I set environment variables to run Xilinx Tools or install service packs on a Solaris/HP Workstation?

Solution

During the installation process, the installer notes the install directory of your tools; it then creates the files "settings.csh" and "settings.csh" with the commands to the environment variables to run your tools.

You must source the file appropriate to your OS shell before running your tools. If you create your own start-up scripts to launch the Xilinx tools, you must set the $Xilinx variables from this script that are equivalent.
