Are Virtex-II Pro RocketIO transceivers fully XAUI-compliant?
Yes, the transceivers are compliant to all but the latency specification. XAUI has a latency requirement similar to the Gigabit Ethernet for the PAUSE command (see (Xilinx Answer 13928) for more information on this).
Virtex-II Pro is between 19 ns and 50 ns short of the specification. One Pause unit (quanta) is equal to 51.2 ns at 10 Gigabit rates. This is one unit out of a maximum value of 64K units, which should not affect operation in most systems.
