Are Virtex-II Pro RocketIO transceivers fully Serial ATA-compliant?
Solution
Virtex-II Pro RocketIO transceivers are compatible with the Serial ATA standard, but are not fully compliant with:
- Out-of-band signals
- Dynamic receiver/transmitter impedance matching
- A Clock Resolution of PPM (+350/-150)
The Virtex-II Pro RocketIO can support +/- 100 ppm clock resolution.
- Spread spectrum
The Virtex-II Pro RocketIO cannot support the spread spectrum clocking requirements of the SATA standard.
