4.2i XST - PCI core flow support in XST

Keywords: XST, PCI, flow

Urgency: Hot

General Description:
XST 4.2i and newer supports the PCI flow.

An XST command line switch preserves the uppercase names in VHDL. In order for the PCI/VHDL flow to work through XST, this command line switch must be used. This new command line switch is only valid for VHDL, and it is valid only for uppercase names.

-case upper

Additionally, you must download the most recent version of the PCI core from the PCI lounge. (Information about the PCI lounge is available at: http://support.xilinx.com/pci/.)

(PLEASE NOTE: This problem is fixed in the latest 4.2i Service Pack, available at:
The first service pack containing the fix is 4.2i Service Pack 2.)

You may enable the VHDL case option through the Project Navigator GUI; however, official support for the PCI core is available only through the command line at this time:

1. For Windows, set the variable XIL_PROJNAV_XST_OPTION to "1"; for UNIX, set XIL_PROJNAV_XST_OPTION=TRUE.
2. Open Project Navigator.
3. Select Edit -> Preferences.
4. Select the Processes tab.
5. Change the Property Display Level to "Advanced".
