*Obsolete* 4.2i iMPACT - 18V00 - "Programming Failed" reported during a program/verify operation on a device chain set in concurrent mode

Description

Keywords: Verify, Boundary Scan, chain, JTAG, PROM, 18V00, concurrent, sequential, program, failed

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
When a chain containing an 18V00 PROM is programmed and verified using the JTAG "Concurrent Programming" method, the software reports:

"Error - Programming Failed"

The devices do actually function, despite the verify failure. If the devices are programmed one at a time, the verify error is not produced.

Solution

This error will occur if "concurrent" mode is used in iMPACT. The verify operation should be performed as a "sequential" operation.

To set iMPACT for sequential mode, go to Edit -> Preferences and un-check the "Concurrent Mode" box.
