4.2i XPower - Does XPower take quiescent power for the VCCO power line taken into account?

Description

Keywords: ICCQ

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
Does XPower take quiescent power for the VCCO power rail into account? What about ICCQ?

Solution

In the 4.2i software, XPower does not take the quiescent power on the VCCO power rail into account. Additionally, XPower does not take the quiescent current ICCQ into account if you select "Display Current Values (mA)" under "Preferences".

You can either add this in manually or choose to ignore this, as the value is small. (In a Virtex-E device, this value is approximately 7mW or 2mA; in a Virtex-II device, the value is about the same, or less for smaller devices.)

In the 5.1i and newer software, power reporting will include a breakdown of both quiescent power and quiescent current for the VCCO power rail.
