6.1i XST - "ERROR:Xst:426 - Illegal command usage : run"

Description

Keywords: XST, script, Verilog, include, directory

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
If a space is included in any path to a file name in an XST run script, XST issues the following error:

"ERROR:Xst:426 - Illegal command usage : run"

This error typically occurs when the -ifn and -vlgincdir switches are used. Furthermore, the -vlgincdir switch allows only one directory (contrary to what is stated in the XST User Guide).

Solution

1

If you have a path structure with a space in the path, change the path and the directory structure so that the space is removed.

2

If you have more than one Verilog "include" directory, move all of your "include" files into one directory.

XST does not currently support more than one "include" directory.
