LogiCORE CORDIC v1.0 - The pipelining options of "None" and "Optimal" create the same amount of latency

Keywords: CORE, Generator, COREGen, CORDIC, pipelining, latency

When I set PIPELINING_MODE to "None", the resulting latency does not seem to differ from the resulting latency when I use the pipelining option of "Optimal".

When PIPELINING_MODE is set to "None", CORDIC v1.0 implements optimal pipelining rather than no pipelining.

This is actually beneficial in practice, because the pipelining option is not optimally implemented in v1.0, which has a minimum latency of 5.

In the next release, the design will have a latency of 0 when PIPELINING_MODE is set to "None".

Please see (Xilinx Answer 29570) for a detailed list of LogiCORE CORDIC Release Notes and Known Issues.
