IBIS/SPICE Models - How do these models account for the speed grade of a device?

General Description:

How do Xilinx IBIS and SPICE models take the speed grade of a device into account?

Speed grades have no impact on IBIS and SPICE models. Because I/O transistors are considerably larger than core transistors, I/O switching speed is not considered when a device is labeled with a particular speed grade. Instead, both IBIS and SPICE models offer Min, Typical, and Max models in order to account for process, voltage, and temperature variation.
