General Description:
When I use Floorplanner to group logics in a hierarchy window and assign AREA_GROUP constraints to a user-defined group, re-implementation of the design causes NGDBuild to report the following error messages:
"ERROR:NgdBuild:753 - Line XX in 'tester.ucf': Could not find instance(s) 'XXX' in the design. To suppress this error specify the correct instance name or remove the constraint."
"ERROR:Parsers:11 - Encountered unrecognized constraint while parsing."
"ERROR:NgdBuild:19 - Errors found while parsing constraint file "tester.ucf"."
Solution
To work around this problem, manually modify the UCF to assign components to the area group.For example:

INST "GRP0" AREA_GROUP = "GROUP0";
User-modified constraints
AREA_GROUP "GRP0" RANGE = CLB_R1C1:CLB_R9C8 ;

This problem is fixed in the latest 5.1i Service Pack, available at:
http://support.xilinx.com/support/techsup/sw_updates
The first service pack containing the fix is 5.1i Service Pack 3.
