3.1 EDK - When I attempt to run XPS on Solaris, the system reports that "init.tcl" cannot be found

Description

Keywords: XPS, EDK, Solaris, init.tcl, init

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
When I attempt to run XPS on Solaris, the system reports that "init.tcl" cannot be found. How do I make XPS work properly on Solaris?

Solution

XMD and XPS expect "init.tcl" to be included in the TCL library path.

If the init.tcl file is not available in /usr/local/lib, the following path is searched for the file:

<executable_directory_locations>/../lib/tcl8.3 (This happens to be ${XILINX_EDK}/bin/lib/tcl8.3, because <executable_directory_location> is${XILINX_EDK}/bin/sol.)

To solve this problem, copy over the directory ${XILINX}/bin/lib to ${XILINX_EDK}/bin/.
