5.1i ISE - ISE Online Help does not launch correctly in certain Netscape and Mozilla browsers

General Description:
The ISE 5.1i online help does not launch correctly in certain Netscape and Mozilla browsers.

- In Netscape 6.2/7.0/Mozilla, an error message reports that the file could not be found.
- In Netscape 4.7x, no error message is reported, but the navigation pane on the left side of the help window is blank.

Solution

This problem will be fixed in the next major software release (after 5.2i).

To work around this problem, add an extra forward-slash ("/") character after the word "file" in your browser's URL window.

ISE invokes the online help by placing "file:=//<path>" in the URL box. Therefore, in UNIX, three forward-slashes ("///") appear, and in Windows, only two appear ("//"). Netscape 4.7x requires that three forward-slashes be used. So if the navigation window does not appear, add one forward-slash to create the path ("file:///<path>") that NS 4.7x requires.

Officially, W3C calls for three forward-slashes in all cases after the "file:" command, even though only two appear after the "http:" command. However, most browsers besides NS 4.7x handle the specification correctly when only two forward-slashes appear on Windows platforms.
