Why do two cores with different COE files in one project have the same results in functional simulation, or why are my MIF files overwritten when I create multiple MAC FIR Cores in the same directory?

Solution

This problem occurs because the core is creating simulation files (".mif") that have the same name.

You can work around this issue by noting if your design has multiple MAC FIR Cores with different coefficients files. If so, the cores should be created in separate directories, preferably in a sub-folder.
