6.1 EDK - Processor DSBRAM IF Cntlr: Why are no default drivers assigned for the dsbram_if_cntlr core when going to Project->Assign Default Drivers in XPS?

Urgency: Standard

Description:
Why are no default drivers assigned for the dsbram_if_cntlr core when going to Project-Assign Default Drivers in XPS?

Solution

In version 1.00.a of the dsbram_if_cntlr the MPD file has the incorrect IPTYPE set. It is set to IP which does not assign default drivers. It should be set to PERIPHERAL, which will allow default drivers to be assigned.

This problem can be resolved by either modifying the ".MPD" file for the core, or by using version 1.00.b, which has the correct IPTYPE set.

To modify the ".MPD" file in EDK 3.2 go to "<EDK install directory>\hw\iplib\pcores\dsbram_if_cntlr_1_00_a\data" and open the ".MPD" file. Find IPTYPE and set it to PERIPHERAL.

In EDK 6.1, the ".MPD" file is located in "<EDK install directory>\hw\LogiCoreLib\pcores\dsbram_if_cntlr_1_00_a\data".
