6.1 EDK SP1 - What is the difference between "ppc405_v1.00a" and "ppc405_v2.00b"?

Description

General Description:

What is the difference between "ppc405_v1.00a" and "ppc405_v2.00b"? (NOTE: "ppc405_v2.00a" has been deprecated.)

Solution

"ppc405_v1.00a" provides very simple wrapper for the PPC405 primitive and the corresponding MPD file. All the I/Os in "ppc405_v1.00a" remain the same as the PPC405 primitive.

For "ppc405_v2.00b", the following input ports are removed from the port list and converted to parameters.

TIEDSOCMDCRADDR

TIEISOCMDCRADDR

TIEC405DETERMINISTICMULT

TIEC405DISOPERANDFWD

TIEC405MMUEN

In addition to that, the "ppc405_v2.00b" MPD file has appropriate OCM bus interfaces to work with ISOCM_V10_1.00b and DSOCM_V10.00b buses.

For more infomation, see (Xilinx Answer 18142), ((Xilinx Answer 18116), and the Processor IP Reference Guide.

NOTE: "ppc405_v2.00a" has been deprecated, and Xilinx recommends using "ppc405_v2.00b" instead.
