6.1i ISE - Adding an EDIF from ePD3.0 causes Project Navigator to issue a fatal error

General Description:
When I add an EDIF netlist file from Mentor Graphics eProduct 3.0, Project Navigator reports a fatal error.
Solution
A problem with the Xilinx EDIF parser causes this error when certain EDIF files created with ePD 3.0 are added.This problem has been fixed in the latest 6.2i Service Pack, available at:
http://support.xilinx.com/xlnx/xil_sw_updates_home.jsp
The first service pack containing the fix is 6.2i Service Pack 1.
You can use EDIF parsers from other vendors to verify the validity of your EDIF file. One tool is available at:
http://edif-tc.cs.man.ac.uk/parser/
You can use this EDIF parser to check the correctness of an EDIF file and to create a new one. With this parser, the EDIF from ePD 3.0 will be correct. However, if you let the parser create a new EDIF file from the original, this new file should be recognized correctly by the Xilinx EDIF parser.
