When the eye height at the receiver is too low as a result of loss in the channel, how can I increase it to allow for reliable recovery of the data at the receiver?
Backplanes designed for lower speed operation are more lossy at higher speeds. Xilinx has used the Maxim MAX3785 equalizer to increase eye height and successfully recover data on a backplane designed for lower speed. For more information, see:
