Description

Keywords: iMPACT, error, bitstream, 25, exceed, prosize, promsize, PROM size

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
Compressed MCS file does not reduce PROM utilization display, or generation of compressed PROM file fails with the following error:

"ERROR:Bitstream:25 - 0x100000 bytes loaded up from 0x0 would exceed promsize 0x200000."

1. When the total number of uncompressed bits in the targeted bitstreams does not exceed the PROM capacity, the compressed MCS file is correctly generated; however, the percentage full reported by iMPACT does not reflect the reduced size of the compressed file, and the "Total configuration bit/byte size" reported by PROMGen also incorrectly reflects the uncompressed size.

2. When the total number of uncompressed bits in the targeted bitstreams exceeds the uncompressed PROM capacity, iMPACT fails to generate the compressed MCS file, and reports that the number of bits would exceed the targeted PROM size.

Solution

This problem has been fixed in the 6.3i SP1.
